- May 13 - 15: attending the Pennwriters Confference (Pennwriters is a Pennsylvania-based organization that helps writers hone their craft and achieve success) in Pittsburgh
- February 2 - 5: attending the AWP Conference (The Association of Writers and Writing Programs) in Washington DC

- October 16: poet Kelly Davio and I will be teaching a one-day intensive on literary citizenship ("Doing the Write Thing") in Lynwood, WA
- October 12 - October 26: teaching a creative writing course, also through the ArtsNow proram at Edmonds Community College
- October 2: attending the Mystery Writer's of America Northwest October event (Blogging, Social Media and Website Strategies) in Tukwila, WA
- September 27 - November 15: teaching an online writing workshop through the ArtsNow program at Edmonds Community College
Summer, 2010
- June - attending the Whidbey Island Writers' Conference mini-chat house series
- July - represented both Seattle Free Lances and the ArtsNow program from EDCC at a booth/table at the Pacific Northwest Writers' Conference
- August - attended the writers' residency for the MFA in creative writing at the Northwest Institute of Literary Arts
